Brandon Vera (11-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) officially begins his new run with the UFC on October 29th as he faces off against a fighter also on his second stint with the promotion in Eliot Marshall (10-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC).
Vera has amassed a less than stellar 3-3-1 record since dropping to light heavyweight but it was his one sided beating at the hands of Thiago Silva back at UFC 125 that lead to his release .
That bout was eventually overturned, as a result of Silva’s failure to pass a post fight drugs test, and Vera was rehired by the UFC.
Eliot Marshall will also be looking to impress at UFC 137 and also to erase the memories of his last fight back at UFC 128, when he was stopped in the first round by the always dangerous Luis Cane.
UFC 137 is headlined by a welterweight super fight between George St-Pierre and Nick Diaz and will take place from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
