UFC reveal more bouts for upcoming events including Pettis vs. Stephens, Lawlor vs. Weidman and Dunham vs. Bailey

Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey – UFC Fight Night 25

A lightweight bout between Evan Dunham (11-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) and TUF 13 graduate Shamar Bailey (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) was recently confirmed for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 25 event.

Dunham’s rise from prospect to contender was heavily observed by the watching world but this bout with Bailey will see the young prospect try to counter back to back losses against Melvin Guillard and Sean Sherk.

Shamar Bailey may not have won his season of the Ultimate Fighter but, following the example of many current UFC stars, he was able to win at the finale and is now will meet Dunham at UFC Fight Night: Shields and Ellenberger on September 17th.

Anthony Pettis vs. Jeremy Stephens – UFC 136

Former WEC champion Anthony Pettis (13-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Jeremy Stephens (20-6 MMA, 7-5 UFC) are set to face off at UFC 136 on October 8th.

Pettis was originally set to meet the UFC lightweight champion after the second meeting between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard but that bout ended up a draw and Pettis was subsequently outwrestled by Clay Guida at the TUF13 finale.

Jeremy Stephens also fought that night on the and Lil Heathen picked up his second straight win; building on his knockout victory over Marcus Davis with a unanimous decision victory over Danny Downes.

UFC 136 is set to take place on October 8th from the Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas.

Tom Lawlor vs. Chris Weidman – UFC 138

Middleweights Tom Lawlor (7-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Chris Weidman (6-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) are set to meet at November’s UFC 138 event.

Lawlor has not fought in over twelve months when he broke a two fight losing streak with a victory against former title contender Patrick Cote.

Chris Weidman is highly touted by many as a future contender at 185lbs and the Serra-Longo product has shown fantastic skillset in defeating Alessio Sakara and Jesse Bongfeldt.

UFC 138 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
